Kelar Pacific partners with companies working in mass timber to help deliver excellence in design for fabrication and erection. Our services include 3D model development, design coordination and management, and production drawings and file exports for mass timber and miscellaneous steel components.

We work to mitigate project risk by practicing principles of parametric design. Our process involves utilizing advanced modeling techniques to control cuts made in timber by the size and location of the associated connection. As a result, the timber fabrication is guaranteed to fit correctly to the steel fabrication as the timber and steel are treated as an integrated assembly. We work closely to integrate design, fabrication, and erection constraints and tolerances within these parametrically associated assemblies.

Because Kelar Pacific offers a wide range of services related to architectural design, MEPF modeling, BIM coordination, and structural design, we view the building design holistically and can help your team coordinate the mass timber scope of work with all other related scopes. Our goal is to help your team avoid costly mistakes and re-work while maximizing profitability.

Our in-house BIM experts can convert 2D drawings to 3D Revit structural models, work with MEPF models to integrate penetrations, and provide industry standard file exports for CAM software (such as BTL and DXF). Because we utilize the Autodesk Construction Cloud, we also serve as your design and project management partner coordinating 3D models, 2D documentation, issues, RFI’s, and submittals in a collaborative, cloud-based environment.

Joshua Miller is an Autodesk Revit® Structural and Architectural Certified Professional and Construction Digital Practice Manager. He follows generations of construction experience and has delivered many disciplines over the years. With a degree in Construction Management, Joshua has worked with both national and international clients as a practitioner of Virtual Design & Construction. Projects have included BIM Coordination, detailing for mass timber, concrete, and structural steel as well as training and supervising other detailers and overseeing fabrication quality control.
