In this 3 day class we will cover Revit Core Essentials on Day 1, including the setup process for linking consultants backgrounds and generating a layout that is required by the MEP team.

    Day 1 – Core and Project Setup

    • Half Day of Revit Core Essentials to familiarize the student with the general application of Revit MEP

    The objective of this course is to enable students to create a basic 2D drawing in AutoCAD. All topics, including features and commands, relate to both AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT unless specifically noted otherwise in the class.

    The strategy is to start with a few basic tools that enable the student to create and edit a simple drawing, and then continue to develop those tools. More advanced tools are also introduced throughout the class as we progress.

    Revit Architecture is a powerful Building Information Modeling (BIM) program that works the way Architects think. From Preliminary Design through Design Development, and into Construction Documents, the program streamlines the design process with a central 3D model. Changes made in one view update across all views and on the printable sheets. This course is designed to teach you the Revit functionality as you would work with it in the design process. You begin by learning about the user interface and the Revit commands for design development followed by those available for construction documentation.

    Since building projects themselves tend to be extremely complex, Revit Architecture is a necessarily complex program. The objective of this course is to enable students to create full 3D architectural project models and set them up in working drawings. This course focuses on basic tools that the majority of users need to work with Revit Architecture.

    This course is a two class covering all of the modules for Navisworks Manage and Simulate.

    The Autodesk® Navisworks® Essentials course instructs students in real-world approaches to the software that combine 3D geometry from cross disciplines into one scene to enable effective model collaboration. This hands-on, instructor led class, will help students acquire the knowledge required to create, aggregate and markup the model. In this class we will introduce the students to TimeLiner, Animator, Scripter, and Presenter, as well as the Clash Detective tools within Autodesk Navisworks Manage.

    Using Autodesk® Navisworks®, Simulate and Manage, students learn how to open, review, and run interference checks on 3D models with the Clash Detective. Students also learn how to link to task-scheduling files and create 4D construction simulations. Using the Animator and Scripter tools, students create interactive animations. In addition, students learn how the Presenter tools can help them create photorealistic images and animations.

    • Describe the main features and functionality of Autodesk Navisworks.

    Revit Architecture is a powerful Building Information Modeling (BIM) program that works the way Architects think. From Preliminary Design through Design Development, and into Construction Documents, the program streamlines the design process with a central 3D model.     Revit Architecture is a powerful Building Information Modeling (BIM) program that works the way Architects think. From Preliminary Design through Design Development, and into Construction Documents, the program streamlines the design process with a central 3D model. Changes made in one view update across all views and on the printable sheets. This course is designed to teach you the Revit functionality as you would work with it in the design process. You begin by learning about the user interface and the Revit commands for design development followed by those available for construction documentation.

    Since building projects themselves tend to be extremely complex, Revit Architecture is a necessarily complex program. The objective of this course is to enable students to create full 3D architectural project models and set them up in working drawings. This course focuses on basic tools that the majority of users need to work with Revit Architecture.

    The topics include the following:

    • Understand the purpose of Building Information Management (BIM) and how it is applied in Revit
    • Using the Revit Architecture workspace and interface
    • Working with the basic drawing and editing tools in Revit
    • Creating Levels and Grids as datum elements for the model
    • Creating a 3D building model with walls, curtain walls, windows, and doors
    • Adding floors and roofs to the building model
    • Creating standard and custom stairs
    • Detailing Reflected Ceiling Plans with ceilings and lighting fixtures
    • Adding component features, such as furniture and equipment
    • Setting up sheets for plotting with text, dimensions, details, tags, and schedules

    The objective of this course is to enable students to create a basic 2D drawing in AutoCAD. All topics, including features and commands, relate to both AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT unless specifically noted otherwise in the class.

    This class has been designed to teach the concepts and principles from building design through construction documentation using the Autodesk Revit Structure software. We will introduce the students to the software's basic building components that make the Autodesk Revit Structure software a powerful and flexible structural modeling tool. Our goal is to familiarize you with the tools necessary to create, document, and print your parametric model. Examples and practices are designed to reflect as many different building types as possible.
