Architecture
The Revit platform's performance can depend as much on the knowledge, skill, and practices of its users as on the hardware environment provided for the software. To address both of these areas, the Revit platform team has assembled this collection of hardware requirements, recommendations, and modeling best practices as researched by both internal development and our community of dedicated customers.

Ecotect
- Creating Models for Performance Analysis on Existing Buildings
- Using Autodesk Ecotect Analysis and Building Information Modeling
This document helps you to get the most from Autodesk® Ecotect®
Analysis software and building information modeling (BIM) solutions
from Autodesk: Autodesk® Revit® Architecture and Autodesk® Revit® MEP.

The
whitepaper explores how the Autodesk® Green Building Studio® service
allows architects to more easily evaluate the carbon “footprint” of a
Revit-based building design using the new Green Building Studio plug-in
for Revit.
Weather Data for Building Energy Analysis
Autodesk®
Green Building Studio® provides a complete year of weather data for
design and building energy analysis. With 737,000+ locations, a virtual
weather station is no further than 14 km (8.8 miles) from any given
project within North America, Europe, and Asia. (Weather data will soon
be available in Central & South America, and Africa as well). This
whitepaper discusses the benefits of using Green Building Studio
weather data and provides guidance in choosing a weather station for
energy analysis.
Water and Electricity Do Mix – A Summary of the Water Energy Connection in Northern California
Energy
efficiency and climate change are two of the latest items to be linked
to water, with growing attention being paid to the connection between
water use and energy consumption. This article summarizes a PG&E
funded research study that investigated the energy intensity of
non-agricultural water consumption in Northern California. The study
provides data on specific and average water energy use intensity (EUI)
and quantifies the energy related benefits of water efficiency in green
buildings and projects.
BIM for Sustainable Design
Building
information modeling (BIM) facilitates complex processes and analyses
that were previously too laborious or expensive to perform. This white
paper details how Revit® Architecture, Autodesk’s purpose-built BIM
solution, supports key aspects of sustainable design and green
certification.
