MEP

From advanced technology for building information modeling (BIM) to widely adopted, discipline-specific design and documentation software built on AutoCAD software, Kelar Pacific offers field-proven solutions built specifically for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineers, designers, and drafters.

Engineering a Sustainable Future

Glumac is a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services firm whose engineers go out of their way to create innovative sustainable designs. In this short video, hear how Glumac is remaining competitive and capturing today’s opportunities by using Autodesk solutions, including Revit MEP BIM software, to create the most sustainable design possible.

Better Engineering Design, Better-Performing Buildings

Today’s complex buildings require leading-edge systems engineering to optimize performance in both efficiency and use. As projects increase in complexity, communicating designs and design changes among mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineers and their extended teams, including architects and structural engineers, becomes more important.

MEP firms can improve productivity, accuracy, and coordination with Autodesk technology, from sophisticated design software to collaborative project management solutions.

To facilitate a new level of project collaboration with their architectural clients and structural engineers, and to transform their sustainable design practices from ad-hoc to technology-based, Design West adopted BIM software in early 2007 and the firm has completed construction documentation on 12 projects using the BIM approach.
One of the most time-consuming aspects of any Building Performance Analysis (BPA) is the setup required to carry out the analysis. With the Revit® family of software products, a great deal of the front end effort necessary to carry out BPA has been removed with the implementation of robust gbXML export as well as a direct link to the IES <Virtual Environment> (<VE>) analysis platform within Revit MEP.

This white paper provides guidance on how to leverage Autodesk’s core MEP engineering products and supporting solutions to better deliver an MEP BIM project.

This white paper explores how key concepts of BIM improve MEP design processes, both building mechanical and electrical.

Design Review

Autodesk Design Review software is a proven,  all-digital process for accelerating review cycles. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineers can electronically review, mark up, and revise 2D and 3D designs. Users can track and review changes and their status without waiting for printouts. Design Review includes tools to visualize drawings and models, including tools to walk through and cross-section your models, without altering the original file.  Publish to DWF for an easy and secure way to share designs.
